Your device has been set up with a generic password 1234 - we recommend changing this by following the steps below. You can also create a swipe pattern or register your fingerprint for select models.
- Go to "Settings"
- Select "Lock Screen and Security" ("Security" on some devices)
- Select "Screen Lock Type" and you will be prompted to enter your current unlock method
- Create your swipe pattern or change your PIN as prompted.
To change the timeout setting and other lock settings
- Go to "Settings"
- Select "Lock Screen and Security" ("Security" on some devices)
- Select "Secure lock Settings" (or cog icon on some devices)
- You can change the timeout length, or lock button settings in here.
NOTE: If you receive the error “Unfortunately settings has stopped” Please try removing your SD card and try again (you can re-insert the SD card again once the changes have saved). Once done, check to see if there are any Software Updates that can be installed to fix this issue. Go to Settings/Software Updates (or About/Software Update)
