Most new monitors offer optional cables for data connection. The most common are the Blue VGA cable and the White DVI cable (Recommended). Many screens often support HDMI cables.
It is VERY IMPORTANT that only ONE data cable should be used; NOT both. Using both is very likely to confuse the computer into thinking it has two screens and will give some strange display issues.
Using the white DVI cable is recommended as this gives better quality normally.
