To set up email on your new Samsung device, you will need the following info
- Email Address
- Email Username
- Commonly just your email address, may be different for domain email clients
- Email Password
- Incoming email server address (POP/IMAP), encryption settings (SSL, TLS or None) and port
- Outgoing email server address (SMTP), encryption settings (SSL, TLS or None) and port
Method 1 - Automatic Setup
You may be able to use the Automatic Setup feature (provided your domain has been set up with this). If this fails, you will need to proceed with manual setup
- Open the Email app
- If the 'Add New Account' screen doesn't automatically pop up, tap MORE (or the 3 dots, depending on phone model) in the top-right of the screen, Tap Settings, then tap Add Account
- Enter your email address and password, then tap SIGN IN, your phone will now check for auto setup information - If this fails, then please proceed with Manual Setup steps.
- Your phone will now sync your emails
Method 2 - Manual Setup
- Open the Email app
- If the 'Add New Account' screen doesn't automatically pop up, tap MORE (or the 3 dots, depending on phone model) in the top-right of the screen, Tap Settings, then tap Add Account
- Enter your email address and password, then tap MANUAL SETUP
- Tap POP3 or IMAP ACCOUNT
- Enter/Correct the following information
- Email Address
- User Name
- POP3/IMAP Server
- Security Type
- Port
- SMTP Server
- Security Type
- Port
- Check that the Username and Password are correct
- Leave everything else as default
- Tap SIGN IN, your phone will now check server settings (if this fails, please check the info above and try again)
- Your phone will now sync your emails and contacts (IMAP only).
