To set up email on your new Samsung device, you will need the following info
If you have your own on-site exchange server, you will need to get this info from your email provider
- Email Address
- Email Username
- Commonly just your email address for Office365/YHE, preceeded by \ (eg \telco.nz@ubteam.com)
- Email Password
- Exchange Server Address
- Office 365 - outlook.office365.com
- YHE - mail.yourhostedexchange.com
Method 1 - Automatic Setup
You may be able to use the Automatic Setup feature (provided your domain has been set up with this). If this fails, you will need to proceed with manual setup
- Open the Email app
- If the 'Add New Account' screen doesn't automatically pop up, tap MORE (or the 3 dots, depending on phone model) in the top-right of the screen, Tap Settings, then tap Add Account
- Enter your email address and password, then tap SIGN IN
- If the phone then displays 'Security Update Required', tap OK and proceed. Otherwise cancel the current operation and proceed with manual setup.
- On the 'Activate Device Administrator' screen, tap ACTIVATE
- Your phone will now sync your emails and contacts.
Method 2 - Manual Setup
- Open the Email app
- If the 'Add New Account' screen doesn't automatically pop up, tap MORE (or the 3 dots, depending on phone model) in the top-right of the screen, Tap Settings, then tap Add Account
- Enter your email address and password, then tap MANUAL SETUP
- Tap MICROSOFT EXCHANGE ACTIVESYNC
- Enter/Correct the following information
- Email Address
- Domain\Username - Normally your email address preceeded by \
- Password
- Exchange Server
- Leave everything else as default
- Tap SIGN IN
- If you see the 'Activate Email' popup, tap OK, your phone will now check server settings (if this fails, please check the info above and try again)
- On the 'Security Update Required' popup, tap OK.
- On the 'Activate Device Administrator' screen, tap ACTIVATE
- Your phone will now sync your emails and contacts.
